Rob Tiffin has been involved with providing leadership in student services for the past 37 years having served in senior positions at Western University, Brock University and most recently as Vice-President Students at York University. Rob has been an active participant in a number of provincial, national and international organizations focused ont he delivery of high quality student services. Rob has specialized knowledge and experience in strategic enrolment management including domestic/international recruitment, retention policies and practices, transition programs, the co-ordination of complex service delivery across multiple units including admissions, recruitment, registrarial, financial aid, career preparation, personal counseling and the management of student conflict and mediation. At York Rob took an active, leadership role has taken in the development of best practices for the support of students with disabilities.
At York University Rob was a champion for the identification of learning outcomes for student service and co-curricular programming in leadership, residence life, student government, clubs and peer mentoring programs in the development of personal identity, civic engagement and interpersonal competencies. The opportunity for students to reflect on the achievement of these outcomes was provided through their co-curricular record. The identification of learning outcomes was complemented by the development of rubrics and assessment tools to measure the impact of programming to assist not only to enhance programming but also to ensure that human and budgetary resources are allocated effectively.
